Band 4+: Some people believe that in the right of freedom of speech. Others believe in censorship. Discuss both views and give your opinion

One of the highly controversial issues today relates to whether we should allow freedom of expression or support censorship. This essay will examine both points of view and then I will give my own perspective on the matter. Discussing the first view, the foremost is that democracy is the pillar of the society. In other words, without giving freedom of speech to people, they will not express their voice against the government and because of this reason, the authority will infringe the rights of individuals which are given by the constitution of India. For example, article 19(1) (a) of the constitution of india gurantees freedom of speech and expression to all citizens of India, which is the fundamental right of them. On the contrary, the supporter of the latter view favour that, freedom of speech gives negative impact on the country. This is because some people are habitual of saying negativity on everything, which are essential for the country development. For instance, if the authority change the syllabus of the education, they start counter questioning on the government and because of this, and countries are underdeveloped. To conclude and give my opinion. I would vote for the first opinion. The reason is that it is the fundamental rights of the citizens. However, the authority should makes some rules in order to prevent negative thoughts.
