As a result, this causes many individuals angry reaction and they firmly assert that the media coverage of such crime scenes should be prohibited. From my standpoint, it is not negative development.
For one thing, these are not kid-friendly and there are many detrimental effects for children in pre-teenage years. Because, in this period, pre-teens would be mentally vulnerable. Violent content may cause fear, anxiety. In turn, this leads to negative development for children. In general, continuous exposure of such news can create unnecessary fear among the public, making people believe that society is more dangerous than it actually is. Another significant impact is something called “Copycat” effect. It means, other criminals or youths may imitate what they see in the media. To sum up, it can be golden opportunity, those who are keen on learning hacks or tips for criminal activities. As a result, we may witness a growth in crime rates. Moreover, this poses the normalization of violence. Repeated exposure makes violence feel normal. As a result, people turn to accept them like normal actions. The more it plays on the social media, the more we become hardened and have psychological effects, I disagree with the idea of banning it completely. A more effective approach is to regulate how such news is presented and ensuring that public remains informed without unnecessary fear and exaggeration.
However, banning crime reporting entirely would have serious drawbacks. The media plays a crucial role in informing the public about real events, helping people stay aware of potential dangers in their environment. Furthermore, it promotes transparency.
