Fostering nuanced and thorough identities for students has been considered one of the most critical tasks of schools. However, there has been a significant rise in the number of students having bad attitudes. From my perspective, media exposure and adults’ management are the main reasons for this trend. I will further elaborate on my point of view and give out my opinion in this following essay.
To begin with, numerous teenagers are exposed to harmful and violent media. The rapid growth of technology has allowed individuals to gain access to various topics, including negative ones that some may have stumbled upon. This long-term exposure may develop a twisted mindset, bringing harm to both teenagers and society. A recent case in Vietnam where a grade 11 student killed his senior due to a misunderstanding has raised concern and distress among citizens. Furthermore, parents and schools still have light punishments for disrespectful teens. They merely use quick and traditional methods that do not mitigate but fuel teens’ desire for more chaos.
Therefore, a set of effective measures must be taken to tackle this negative trend. The first thing I want to mention is managing youngsters’ screentime. By controlling their content and time, adults can reduce the chance of their child watching detrimental topics and steer them into much healthier and educational shows. Moreover, parental figures must cooperate with schools and teachers to educate the youth. Whenever they are reported to have abnormal behaviour, parents should implement punishments as well as patiently explain to them the detrimental effects of their inappropriate actions. Besides, adults ought to spend more time with their youngsters, so that they can act immediately if there are any signs of disrespectful attitudes.
Ultimately, the bad attitude student trend is caused by exposure to harmful topics and the loose management of adult figures. Implementing methods such as screentime control and dual cooperation of parents and teachers may decrease the negative trend, while promoting happy and appropriate content to many young individuals for the goal of turning them into responsible citizens of communities
