It is often argued that a long-distance flight consumes fuel as a car uses in several years. However, they cause the same amount of pollution. Today, some people believe that we should discourage non-essential flights, such as tourist travel, rather than to limit the use of cars. I completely agree that non-essential flights should be discouraged and car use should be limited to reduce environmental pollution.
First of all, non-essential flights, such as tourist travel, contribute significantly to environmental pollution. Airplans release a large amount of carbon dioxide and toxic waste into the atmosphere, which increases global warming and other environmental degradations. Governments should reduce dependence on and reliance on air travel. This pollution can also negatively affect people’s health, causing different diseases such as asthma. However, all around the world, many people are suffering from these illnesses, especially children, which can seriously affect their development. Another important issue is that airplans depend on fossil fuels, which are digging the ground and there a limited sourse of energy. Moreover, they also consume a large amount of energy.
Secondly, cars also cause serious issues. In many cities, traffic congestion leads to long delays and increases air pollution, because cars also separate chemical waste into air. Furthermore, cars produce a lot of noise and people who live in urban areas suffer from traffic noise. As a result, more people are buying cars, which lead to traffic congestion on the roads. In addition, residents drive at high speeds, which lead to accidents.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that non-essential flights should be reduced and car use should be limited, because they both contribute to environmental pollution.
