Numerous environmental issues have been a global threat for a significant period of time. Some argue that this is due to the government’s failure to implement strict regulations. I partially disagree with this statement because I believe that neither strict regulations alone nor their absence will solve the issue. In order to achieve environmental protection, each individual must take personal responsibility and adhere to all regulations.
While it is undeniable that certain environmental crises pose a serious threat, in recent times, there have been many campaigns and awareness initiatives worldwide. However, despite these efforts, there has not been a significant improvement in our lifestyles. This is primarily because many individuals do not take these issues seriously. For instance, although plastic usage has been recognized as harmful in several countries, there are still people using plastic in various applications. Therefore, to reduce its usage, strict regulations to ban plastic should be implemented, alongside increased responsibility from the citizens.
Furthermore, even if the government introduces new regulations, there will still be a portion of the population that struggles to adhere to these practices. For example, in India, dumping harmful substances is prohibited in many areas, but due to the high population density and limited land resources, compliance with these rules is challenging. Therefore, in order to address this, strict regulations should be put in place only after tackling other pressing issues that act as major barriers.
In conclusion, although it is crucial for authorities to enforce strict regulations, individuals must also willingly comply with them and not neglect the future of the planet. To achieve this, we need to raise awareness and emphasize the significance of the earth’s well-being to the next generation.
